BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves adding keys or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system as it requires a valid PIN code to start the engine.
The Ghost is unique to other immobilisers as it does not use key fobs or LED indicators. Instead, it uses your vehicle's existing buttons to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that only you are aware of.
Stop & Start
If you have previously driven a brand new BMW or used the stop start feature, you may have noticed that once stopped the engine will continue to be running for approximately 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to watch the vehicle for a signal coming from the ignition key. When it detects this the vehicle will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that can stop this by stopping the vehicle every time you hit the button.
Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a unique next-generation device that doesn't require cutting OEM wires or adding aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is hooked up to your BMW's CAN network and programmed with a secure, unique PIN code which is accessible through buttons in your car. This allows you to enter an exact key-push sequence that is not available in the usual menus for media, such as volume up/down or cruise control, source or turning on air conditioning, which prevents your car from starting unless this is entered. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it hard for thieves to guess.
In addition to this we can also add a service or valet mode to the system. This is activated when your vehicle is being serviced so that the Ghost is not visible to the garage. You can do this by pressing the service button 5 times on your infotainment system (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically arm itself when you return.

Service Mode / Valet Mode
The Ghost is a market leading immobiliser designed to stop your vehicle from being taken through key cloning and hacking. It works by using the vehicles factory buttons to create a unique sequence of pushes that only you know, much as the pin code security of your mobile phone. It's subtle, extremely effective and can deter even the most obstinate thieves!
If you are parked at home or in an event where you meet and greet, the Ghost can be put into service mode, which allows you to start your vehicle using your keys in the normal way, however it stops the engine from starting until the proper code is entered. This is perfect for customers who have to give their vehicles to valet services, or trusted family members or friends. It also allows you to take the car to the garage for servicing etc without having to worry about it being damaged or stolen by a mechanic whilst you wait.
When the service or valet mode is activated it will stop your BMW from being able to drive after it has been started. This prevents anyone from attempting to test drive the vehicle while you are away. Once you return, the vehicle will revert to normal and stop it from being altered or stolen.
We can fit the Ghost to any BMW, all you need is the right keys as the device doesn't use the original remotes, and can be used in conjunction with them. We can also supply an optional Bluetooth tag which can be used to deactivate the Ghost via an App on your phone (IOS and Android) or if you don't have a smartphone or aren't familiar with it just press the emergency card one time. This is an additional cost and requires a different Bluetooth pairing.
Anti-Hijack
With the advent of high-tech thieves becoming increasingly and more sophisticated the security technology is continuing to improve, which is why Ghost has created this subtle and non-obtrusive immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from using an ignition key or replacing the ECU to start your car and drive it off. Ghost connects to your CAN network and utilizes buttons on your vehicle to generate an individual push-sequence that has to be entered before the engine can start.
When the anti-hijacking feature is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. The system will hone the horn and flash the indicators. It will also stall the vehicle in the event that the code cannot be found. The Anti-Hijack feature is removed by entering your push sequence or by entering service mode which allows your car to temporarily start and drive without having to enter your PIN.
If you have an GPS device that is connected to your BMW, you can utilize it to disable the Anti-Hijack function to allow you to use your navigation system when the vehicle is stationary. You can also use your smart-phone to control the anti theft feature and other functions.

We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile application for remote control of keyless go and start functionality. This is helpful if you need to be somewhere else and a mechanic or valet needs to start your car. The system allows you to start your car, select drive and exit the service mode without having to use your key fobs. You can also track your vehicle's location on the map in real-time using your smartphone.
The Ghost can be placed under the dashboard or within the center console. It is completely secure and untouchable and doesn't require any extra wiring. The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is inserted into it. This pin code has to be chosen prior to the engine's start. This prevents thieves from bypassing the system using an unauthorized clone or replacement ECU.
If your vehicle is taken away, the Ghost will enter service mode and stop all functions until you have the PIN code or can use the mobile application to disarm it. This feature was developed to protect you vehicle from high-tech thieves who employ relay boxes to steal it. This will stop thieves from using their mobile phones to activate your sat-nav or mp3 players to track your vehicle!
Ghost also can stop "Relay Style Frequency Amplification". This is the most common way a car is being stolen with a key-fob that was copied or stolen through hacking. Ghost can help you prevent this theft by installing a device known as Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device is installed inside the key-fob of your vehicle and then removes the battery after a short period of inactivity. This is possible on all modern PKE key-fobs.
